3D DIGITIZATION

A new dimension to discover

The 3D digitization of works of art, cultural assets and heritage works opens a new door to all kinds of imaginative solutions: reproductions, reintegrations, virtual restorations, virtual museums, analyzes... Let's take this path together.

What is digitization?

Digitization is the process through which analog data, such as a work of art, is converted into digital content.

Through digitization we can work with artworks from a computer, facilitate their diffusion and study online or analyze them in detail.

We can offer you different digitization techniques:

- High resolution digital photography with color compensation. Diffuse light, UV fluorescence and digital IR.

- Photogrammetry for the obtention of 3D models.

- Laser scan with Faro Design ScanArm for the obtention of hig quality and geometrically precise 3D models.

Discover 3D scanning

Ancla 1

We use the Faro Design ScanArm 2.5C 3D scanner for the digitization of works of art, cultural assets and heritage works. With this scanner we are able to capture the most delicate and precise details of the surface and even its color. Without a doubt, it is the most suitable 3D scanning option for projects where quality matters. In addition, the numbers speak for themselves: the only 3D scan device with ISO certification with a minimum accuracy below 75 microns and a separation of points below 40 microns. The results we achieve are unbeatable. We recommend its use to:

- Obtain 3D models of high resolution as "backup copies" of art, a new measure of preventive conservation.

- Reproduction of works of art with 3D printing technology and the creation of high quality facsimiles.

- Analyze the degradation of works of art and heritage by comparing 3D scans over time.

- Detailed study of the surface: incisions, engravings, cracking, losses, etc.

- Reintegration of losses through the digitization and 3D reproduction of analogous areas.

- Creation of museographic or storage supports perfectly adapted to the geometry of the works of art.

- Complete analysis of objects: digital measurements, section drawing, volumes, surface study and other geometric calculations.

High fidelity digitization

Discover photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is one of the most versatile digitization techniques applied to heritage. It consists in the reconstruction of 3D models based on the use of high resolution photographs. In this case, the methodology and strategy of capturing images is essential to achieve high quality 3D models. It is a good option to digitize works to:

- Obtain 3D models for diffusion (virtual museums, virtual reality, online platforms, etc.).

- Obtain orthophotographs to use as a basis for alteration maps.

- Simple analysis of objects: digital measurements, drawing sections and other simple geometric calculations.

- A first contact to 3D heritage.
